ROLE: MARKETING INTERN + CREW
You will be responsible for driving the development of the Ximula Sail brand through playing a crucial role in our overall marketing strategy, community events, and strategic partnerships. You will also be given the autonomy to create, pilot and executive new programs or initiatives that contribute to the growth of the brand, so we look forward to having someone who wants to deliver real impact and value to the team and business.
As we’re a sailing company, every single team member is required to work on deck. You will be thrown on board during charters for on-the-job training and to assist as crew, so that you have first-hand understanding of what happens during a yacht charter.
Main Responsibilities:
As a marketing intern + crew, your main responsibilities include:
Market research, competitor analysis & insights:
Conduct an analysis of the yacht charter industry and Ximula Sail’s brand position, and relevant market/consumer trends
Offer insights & actionable recommendations for Ximula Sail’s business development & marketing strategy
Digital content creation & management:
Generate posts for our social media platforms, mainly Facebook & Instagram
Design & prepare email newsletter series to engage our client database
Prepare interesting articles to revive our blog
Sales & marketing operations:
Attend to customer enquiries
Follow up with signups to become part of our database
Develop a more effective & efficient way of coordinating & marketing our Friends of Ximula Sail Open Sunset Cruise
Community engagement events:
Coordinate and liaise with partners, sponsors, and attendees for our upcoming events
Brainstorm & execute ideas for future events
Charter Crew
Assist the captain to prepare the yacht before every charter
Assist the captain during charters in terms of securing lines, berthing/unberthing, lookout duties, hoisting sails, and other duties.
Ensure the safety of all guests on board
Offer help/assistance to guests whenever and wherever required
Provide a good overall service experience to all guests onboard
Wash and clean up the yacht after the end of every charter
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications & Experience
Basic knowledge and a passion for all things marketing, from research & analysis to strategy development and execution (academic background in Business, Marketing, or Hospitality preferred)
Strong understanding of social media and the digital world
Photography & videography skills for content generation
Graphic design skills is a plus
Experience in events management is a plus
Powered Pleasure Craft Driving License (PPCDL) or any sailing experience is a plus
Personality
Love the outdoors and can work under rain or shine
Physically fit and strong enough to carry kayaks
An energetic, sociable and engaging personality; able to interact comfortably with strangers
Ability to multi-task and stay organized
Self-motivated and proactive
Solutions-oriented; ability to address problems with sustainable and scalable solutions
Availability
Available to start in July until December (whether full-time / part-time)
Available to work on weekends and public holidays
